About this project

Molly Peterson is an independent radio journalist focused on environmental health and local impacts of climate change. She tracked residential and workplace heat and health risks with sensors to create original data for stories on KQED, NPR, and High Country News. A former correspondent for Southern California Public Radio and non-practicing lawyer, her work also appears in The Guardian.

She reported for and helped grow the NASA-funded citizen climate observation project, ISeeChange. Her work has been recognized nationally with an Edward R. Murrow Award, by PRNDI, and with an honorable mention by IRE for an investigation after Hurricane Katrina.
